Northern Territory | Alice Springs > Daly Waters

Leaving cold Adelaide and heading to the warm days of central Australia and by the end in the tropics of the north was the plan. Escaping winter is what I’m best at and what a better way than exploring my own country, with a lovely friend. Renae and Caitlin kicking up the NT in Benjamin Britz for a ten day trip. We flew Adelaide > Alice and took Benjamin from there. Thanks to Britz Campervan hire for the legend he was!

We stayed the first night in Alice and then the following in a funny little place called Wycliffe Well (Australia’s home to UFO spottings), everything as suggested, alien themed. All we saw was the clear skies filled with galaxies and the milky way, much more my style.

Second day consisted of driving Wycliffe Well > Daly Waters. On the way we stopped at Devils Marbles where the huge rock boulders balance for days. Such a funny sight, as there’s nothing else like that around anywhere, just in this one certain location. We made Daly Waters by around 4pm and set up camp at the Highway Inn, 3 or 4kms from the pub.

Daly Waters pub, you need to chuck it on your list of places to go!

We hung there for a meal and a few drinks and met so many other travellers to share stories and life with. The pub is filled with mementos from anyone and everyone who had visited. The photos below show what I’m on about, but for real the pub has no walls. Give a gold coin donation and they provide the staple gun to hang anything you want wherever you want.

Day 3 will take us into Mataranka and then onto Kathrine. Stay tuned for more blogs with more photos!

Keep Smiling!
